Are R.U. business students required to
purchase a personal computer?
No, at this time business students at RU are not
required to purchase a computer. However,
business students are frequently required to use
computers to complete homework and other course
assignments. The use of computers is integrated
into the business curriculum so students are
asked to use computers for many courses, not
just courses with an information systems prefix.
Students may complete computer assignments at
one of the university computer labs. However,
because there is sometimes a wait to use lab
computers, and because they may live off campus,
many students choose to purchase their own
personal computer. Most of our students own a
personal computer or have access to one in their
dorm room, house, or apartment.
What Hardware and software should I purchase?
The College of Business and Economics, like most
businesses, uses Windows based personal
computers and NOT Macintosh
computers. Specific computer hardware
and software recommendations for Radford University Students
